STAYTON, Ore. (KPTV) – A female had to be rescued from the Santiam River in Stayton on Thursday afternoon.

“We must [know] with how much we get but no,” reported driver Aubree Lewis. “I feel I like to be careful for the reason that my mom and dad taught me to be a defensive driver.”

Travis Gordon with the Oregon Driver Education and learning Center states having it slow is the greatest place to begin and if you imagine you are driving slowly and gradually, going a several miles an hour slower.

“If you are driving at a larger velocity and you force on the brakes, you are a lot more very likely to go into a skid. It’s often way simpler to protect against a skid from taking place than suitable it as soon as you are in it,” Gordon reported. He included if you occur to hydroplane, “just arrive off the pedals seem and steer the place you wanna go. You are going to regain traction with any luck , soon and then you will go in the direction you are presently steering.”

As much as all of all those other “bad motorists,” Gordon claims keep a great deal of length in between cars and just get out of the way. If an individual else is skidding or getting difficulties, it is far better to have them in advance of you so slow down and stay back again.
