DENVER (KDVR) — The Colorado Division of Transportation is rolling out a winter season driving video clip series called “Winter Driving in the Wild.” The series brings together education and learning and humor to give risk-free and efficient winter driving means for Coloradans.

“Motorists who are unprepared for winter season highway circumstances make risky situations for on their own and every person on the road, not to mention the extended delays we see from spinouts, slide-offs and crashes,” stated Andrew Hogle, CDOT community details officer.

Passenger Auto Traction Regulation, tire and snowplow basic safety, winter preparedness tips and a guide for winter driving means will be bundled in the video collection.

CDOT’s list of needs for the Passenger Motor vehicle Traction Legislation:

  • A 4WD or AWD auto and 3/16” tread depth
  • Tires with a mud and snow designation (M+S icon) and 3/16” tread depth
  • Wintertime tires (mountain-snowflake icon) and 3/16” tread depth
  • Tires with an all-climate rating by the company and 3/16” tread depth
  • Chains or an authorized option traction product

“If everyone on the highway has enough tires and tread, then we’ll see much less crashes and decrease delay moments. That is the aim — we want every single Colorado motorist to get dwelling safely with no resulting in closures or prolonged delays.
