Toyota will start Europe-only system for hybrids, full EVs

BRUSSELS – Toyota is making ready a new Europe-specific automobile platform that will accommodate full-hybrid, plug-in hybrid and comprehensive-electrical powertrains, based on industry ailments and buyer preference. 

The architecture will blend things of Toyota’s global compact platform (GA-C) and the EV-only e-TNGA system. E3 stands for for emotion, engagement and electrical power, Toyota Europe suggests.

Toyota needs a new archtecture for Europe because it will not create vehicles based on the e-TNGA system in the location, rather importing them from Japan, beginning with the bZ4X compact crossover to be released upcoming year.
